Introducing

Derek Evan Whitlock

First and foremost, I will always provide candid and earnest guidance as to the strength and/or weakness of one’s legal position. I enjoy sleeping well knowing that I treat my clients with the same honesty and integrity that I hope to receive in my business dealings.  For over 13 years I have practiced as a trial attorney in the Mid-South area being licensed in Tennessee, Mississippi and Arkansas. My commercial litigation practice from ranges multi-million-dollar contractual disputes to protecting the property values of my clients by ensuring the most-efficient removal of defaulting tenants in both commercial and residential settings. I also provide real estate closing services as well as all other forms of legal guidance in all matters related to real property such as management, land-use development and zoning.

I also relish the opportunity to represent citizens who have been damaged by the negligent and/or intentional acts of bad actors. These scenarios can range from a personal injury representation due to the negligent act of a third party to the unethical actions of persons and/or companies taking advantage of trusting consumers in business transactions.

Despite my love of the courtroom, I know that the best resolution is, generally, a reasonable settlement which will shorten the client’s litigation exposure and costs as quickly as possible. Protracted litigation is costly in time, treasure, and peace of mind; thus, it should not be entered into lightly. Rest assured, if you choose my law group you will be treated with respect, honesty, open and effective communication while making certain your strongest legal positions are fully presented in the most efficient manner.

I am licensed to practice in all state courts in Tennessee, Mississippi, and Arkansas. I am also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts for the Western of Tennessee, U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Mississippi, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
